Following our Ghostlight gathering...THE SOCIAL JUSTICE THEATRE PROJECT officially begins.

The Social Justice Theatre Project is here and you are invited to sign up! Roosevelt's Opening Act Theatre Company is holding four information/audition sessions to become an official participant. Students, notably students of color and students from all affinity and culture clubs who have been introduced to Augusto Boal and Theatre of the Oppressed, are encouraged to join as this project continues that work. The info/audition sessions are Mon. Jan. 23; Wed. Jan. 25; Thurs. Jan. 26; and Wed. Feb. 1 from 3:30-4:30 P.M. in the new Black Box Theatre, Room 9. Attend at least one session. No experience is needed, but once invited officially to participate, commitment is necessary to continue involvement. Guest artists working with committed participants include Dion Graham (African-American professional actor from New York; The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Madame Secretary), May Lee-Yang (Hmong actor, director, playwright, and activities from St. Paul, MN), and Debbie Lamedman (professional actor, playwright, director; Portland Actors Conservatory), all Equity actors. Plus, more theatre professionals! See Ms. Lane for details or go to under "Productions--Current Season".
