STAGE LEFT PDX

Roosevelt's Alumni and Community Theatre Group

Started by the Roosevelt HS Theatre Class of 2011, the Roosevelt Alumni Theatre Group has produced one show each year since 2013 in support of the RHS Theatre Department. Over the years, it has grown and included more than RHS alumni. The name Stage Left PDX reflects that broader group. We hope you audition for our alumni shows or attend as a patron.

SEASON 2022 - 2023

Stage Left PDX puts on two shows a year in support of Roosevelt's Theatre department and to keep the light of theatre alive in the hearts of its alumni and community members.

We welcome any and all people to audition, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, or level of theatre experience. We also work hard to make sure everyone can participate in some way regardless of schedule or location, so please don't let time or distance stop you from auditioning!

Winnie the Pooh

by A.A. Milne

adapted by Kristin Sergel

directed by Kristin Acker and Cydoni Reyes

Nov 5, 2022 @ RHS

3 performances in one day! Auditions in early Sept., rehearsals begin late Sept.

Winnie-the-Pooh is Christopher Robin's fat little "bear of very little brain" who would like to drift peacefully through life, humming tunes and stopping frequently to eat "a little something." However, he finds himself involved in all sorts of frantic adventures, assisted by such friends as the dismal Eeyore, Piglet and Rabbit, with his countless relations. Pooh's intentions are always the best, but his passion for honey and condensed milk keeps getting him into trouble. When friend Piglet gets roped into Kanga's household and Kanga starts bathing him (with soap!) and forcing down spoonfuls of Strengthening Medicine, Pooh wants to fly to the rescue, but he's had so many snacks he gets stuck in the door. A.A. Milne's wit and special understanding of young people make this one of the most successful plays available.

Please note: ALL selections are pending approval of live performances and securing royalties. Titles are subject to change.

Drinking Habits

by Tom Smith

directed by Kay Ferguson

March 17 and 18 @ RHS: 2 performances, auditions in early January, rehearsals begin late January/early February

Accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild in this traditional, laugh-out-loud farce. Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent's doors open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancees, are hot on their trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest, but their presence, combined with the addition of a new nun, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect with lost loves.

Please note: ALL selections are pending approval of live performances and securing royalties. Titles are subject to change. Produced by special arrangement with Playscripts.
